The cabin was used for luxury heliskiing company before. During heavy snow months, February and March, it could be a bit difficult to get to the cabin from the main road by car. However, it is not a long walk. As the cottage is in the mountains, some cell phone companies do not have good cell service there.
The neighbourhood is the wast valleys and mountains that are in the bottom of fjord Ólafsfjörður. There are rivers, waterfalls and a hot-spring nearby, as well as a horse farm where guests can go for horse back riding tours. The cabin is in a perfect location for mountain skiing and cross-country skiing. There are great routs for snowmobiling as well as a lot of hiking trails. Lake Ólafsfjörður is popular for fishing and skating. Town Ólafsfjörður is only 10min away (by car) with basic services and activities. Activities and museums are nearby, such as Jetskiing tours, herring museum, ski lifts, fat-bike tours, kayaking rentals, whale watching, geothermal pool/water-park, beer spa, sea swimming, and more.
Public transportation stops in town Ólafsfjörður, but we recommend renting a car to get around.
